Big Bin Event

Our annual Big Bin Event is held at the Idylwylde Community Hall. Come early to ensure there is enough space for your items. We can accept items for the landfill. This is open to current Idylwylde Community League Members. Memberships will be available during the event if you do not have one.

Materials Collected for Idylwylde’s Big Bins:

• Couches, chairs, carpeting and other household furniture items too large for curbside pickup.
• Broken toys, home construction/renovation materials, scrap metal, car parts
• Small household appliances without CFC’s (refrigeration).
• BBQs, lawnmowers, etc.
• Computers, televisions and other household electronics

Materials that WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED in Idylwylde’s Big Bins:

• Mattresses and box springs
• Commercial Waste
• Household Hazardous Waste 
• Fridges, freezers or air conditioners
• Tires, oil/gas, paint cans
• Concrete

Instead, please take these items to an Eco Station. They will be accepted at no cost. Recyclables can also be dropped off for free at the Eco Depot on the west side of the Bonnie Doon Mall.

Please take reusable items to the Reuse Centre, or use the Reuse Directory to find a place for your items.
