The community garden is located on League grounds alongside the rink, operating from April to October (think spring thaw to fall freeze up).
There are 17 raised beds of varying sizes, plus in-ground spots along the rink fence (mainly used for flowers and some perennials).
These organic beds are available for use by any league member who joins the gardening team.
The required watering and garden maintenance is done by the gardeners on a weekly schedule throughout the growing season.
Produce grown is shared by the active members involved, with a ‘community pick’ bed provided for passers by.
The garden endeavours to grow healthy food, while providing a learning (green) space and one that also renews our connection to the earth, while delighting the eyes and our spirit.
